GENERAL INFORMATION & RULES

ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWAL

  • Admission to any class than to LKG depends upon the availability of seats in that particular class. If there are any seats available (Which will be known only after the new academic year starts in March) the candidates seeking admission to classes: I to V will have entrance test and will be interviewed by the Principal or by her appointee.
  • Application for transfer certificate shall be made in writing to the principal by the parents of the child. Please note that the T.C., Conduct certificate, once issued and received by the pupil/parent cannot be issued again by the school office.
  • At the time of taking the T.C. dues to the school must be paid in full for the period during which the pupil’s name was in the School Register.
  • No pupil will be admitted without the transfer certificate from the school last attended.
  • The school Admission form duly filled and signed by the parent should have the correct date of birth and name.
  • Under no circumstances will any change be made in the date of birth and name unless supported by a Certificate of Birth c any other document issued by competent authority duly authorized to do so.
  • The management, acting through the Headmistress reserves the right of refusing admission to any candidate.
  • Admission may be refused to a candidate who is too old or too young for the class for which the admission is sought.
  • No certificate of any kind will be issued to students who are in arrears.
  • The Headmistress reserves the right to send away any pupil when she deems it necessary.
  • If any child wants to leave the school, she should apply for a TC well in advance.
  • If a child fails to apply in time and asking for a TC, later the child must pay three months tuition fees.

ATTENDANCE:

Every day attendance is marked in the morning and afternoon. Immediately after the second bell and before the teaching starts. A student who is not present at the time of taking attendance will lose attendance for that session. 90% of attendance is required for promotion; students who come late often can lose promotion. Condo nation of attendance will be given only to those who secure at least 50% of marks.

SUSPENSION AND DISMISSAL

The Principal reserves the right to dismiss from the school any student whose conduct is, in her opinion, against the good moral tone of the school. Immorality in word and deed, willful damage to school property, grave insubordination, and contempt of any authority, lack of diligence or the use of unfair means in examinations or conduct which is harmful to other students are sufficient ground for expulsion from the school. The Principal is the sole judge regarding the expulsion of a student. Parents when they apply for their ward’s admission to St. Ann’s EM High School are understood to have accepted the Principal’s judgement in such matters as final.

Examinations:

Students found copying or using any unfair means during the examination will be punished with loss of marks or detention or expulsion from the school.

A progress Report is issued five times a year. After going through the report the parent is required to sign on the report and then return it to the Class Teacher at the time of results. After the final exam, it may be retained.

Promotion to the next class will depend upon the student’s performance throughout the year in:

  • The two terminal exams & unit tests.
  • Continuous assessments / Project Work.
  • Co-curricular activities in school including Games, PT, Sports etc.
  • General behavior: Satisfactory moral and social behavior with others is essential.
  • 75% of attendance of the total number of working days is must.
  • If a student has missed a test she will not be given another test to make up for it. Pupils absent for the examination without grave reasons will be considered as having failed.
  • The decision Headmistress with regard to promotion is final. Parents, who seek to have the decision change, will not be interviewed.
  • Any student caught cheating plagiarizing, or assisting another student to cheat will result in suspension/loss of marks.
  • Parents must encourage their children to take active part in class room discussion, doubt solving and submission of assignments/projects and not be defaulter.

HOUSE SYSTEM:

To instill into the minds of the students a sense of responsibility and team spirit, all the students of Class I to X are divided into a House System. It is the House System that enables to channelize the pent- up energies of our pupils in right direction and they will become competent enough to meet the school life with all complex activities with an undaunted enthusiasm and vigor. One of the main objectives of the House is to foster among the students a sense of collective responsibilities and solidarity and at Accordingly, all will belong to any one of the following Four Houses named the same time kindle and develop the creative qualities latent in every child. Gandhi, Wilhelm, Kalam and Teresa. All must neatly pin the House color School badge to their school uniform.
